Amazon India and Future Group have announced a strategic alliance that will leverage the strong product knowledge, extensive brand portfolio and sourcing base of Future Group, and the e-commerce platform, customer base and reach of Amazon. The partnership will initially focus on the Future Group fashion brands and will subsequently cover all other categories.
Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI), plans to invest Rs 1,100 crore at its scooter manufacturing facility in Vithalapur, near Ahmedabad. The plant, to be built on 250 acres, will be operational by the end of 2015 and will have an annual production capacity of 12 lakh units, making it the world’s largest “only scooter” manufacturing facility.
Japanese telecom and media group SoftBank Corp has agreed to buy a $627 million stake in Indian online retailer Snapdeal, seeking to tap into potentially huge e-commerce growth in the market with the world’s third-biggest Internet user base.
